Fairy Lake
By Ruth Bishop
Country Song Mp4

There's a little bit of heaven
that I have come to know.
It's a piece of land on a spring fed lake
where a river starts it's flow.
There's a cottage and some cabins- sheltered by a cliff,
that was formed from molten lava and pushed up by a rift.

Chorus
Oh the air is fresh and the waters clear
with soft sand under the feet.
And majestic pines with their grand outlines
give relief from summer heat.
And the ravens keep a lookout
from the birches white as pearl.
It's a simple place in a northern space
but it feels like the center of the world.

You always get a welcome
from the folks that call it home.
There's always a bed and you're often fed
with a camp fire sing-a-long.
And the neighbours visit back and forth
any time both night and day.
They speak their minds, They say it straight.
It's just the northern way.

Chorus
Oh the air is fresh and the waters clear
with soft sand under the feet.
And majestic pines with their grand outlines
give relief from summer heat.
And the ravens keep a lookout
from the birches white as pearl.
It's a simple place in a northern space
but it feels like the center of the world.

Well now we all know that long ago
perhaps a millenium or more,
that First People's came with their
tribal name and landed on these shores.
They chose this place
to make a sacred space
and now even more than before,
this land and lake is a special case.
There's a spirit at it's core.

Chorus
Oh the air is fresh and the waters clear
with soft sand under the feet.
And majestic pines with their grand outlines
give relief from summer heat.
And the ravens keep a lookout
from the birches white as pearl.
It's a simple place in a northern space
but it feels like the center of the world.
